KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Floodwaters may have swept a woman to her death earlier this week in a Kansas City creek.

Detectives found the body Friday when searching along Round Grove Creek near East 50th Street and Raytown Road, according to a KCMO Police Department spokesperson.

Officers were alerted at about 3 a.m. on Tuesday that rushing floodwaters took a woman into the creek.

It is not known if the body found Friday is the same woman.

The Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office will work to identify the remains.
