Who needs coffee? Workplace yoga moves can energize the body, mind and spirit

Tuesday, June 21 marked International Yoga Day. Yoga is a practice that developed in India that helps the mind, body and spirit.

When working an office job, it may be difficult to find time to unravel. Jenny Anderson is a yoga instructor and managed the South Plaza branch of Power Life Yogaand said yoga is a good way to get energized.

“Instead of getting an afternoon cup of coffee or afternoon doughnut, just a few yoga things can help get you boosted for rest our day,” she said.

Some easy moves that can be done while seated include:

  • Seated figure four
  • Twist
  • Simply pausing and taking breathes

Other moves such as rag doll and mountain pose can be beneficial to a back that has been sitting all day.
