KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning near the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
A red/grey GMC Sierra truck traveling south on Gillham Road West at a high rate of speed lost control near Rock Hill Road and hit a concrete median, then slammed into a light pole (uprooting it), and also struck a rock wall before coming to rest, according to the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is the fourth vehicular fatality in KCMO in 2019.
