KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sporting Kansas City's away matchup against the San Jose Earthquakes has been postponed due to the home team's county mandate on crowds amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

The game, originally scheduled for March 21, will be rescheduled to a later date, Sporting KC said.

The County of Santa Clara, California, Public Health Department banned gatherings of 1,000 or more people through the end of March due to coronavirus concerns, Sporting said.

Officials with Major League Soccer will work with both teams on a new date.
