Police: Middle school student robbed at gunpoint

A Northeast Middle School student was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday morning, according to Kansas City police.

The robbery happened around 8 a.m. Wednesday at Thompson and Chelsea.

According to the boy, the suspect pulled a gun out and demanded his backpack and shoes.

The suspect is a Hispanic male who was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans at the time of the robbery, police say. He left in a white Pontiac.

Northeast Middle School is planning to provide counseling support for the student. 

The student was not hurt. 

Police are still investigating the case.
