A motorcycle officer with the Independence Police Department was involved in a wreck early Monday afternoon, police said.
According to Independence police, the collision occurred in the northbound lane on Noland Road at 42nd Street. The crash involved the officer's motorcycle and an SUV. Police said the officer was en route to another crash on Noland Road when the collision occurred.
Police said the injured officer was transported to an area hospital and is still being treated.
There was an adult driver and a juvenile in the SUV. Police said the adult was not injured and the juvenile had minor injuries.
Independence police said the crash is still under investigation.
