The Platte County Sheriff's Department is increasing patrols in the southern rural Platte County area after a student was approached by a man over the weekend, according to the Park Hill School District.

The school district said a man approached a Union Chapel student on Saturday. He pulled up to the student and told him to get into the car. The student got away and reported the incident to his parents, who then called the police.

The school district said the student described the man as a white male, possibly in his 40s, with short brown hair and no facial hair. He was driving a red four-door car.
