KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 13-year-old boy from Illinois died Wednesday on the Lake of the Ozarks.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F reported that it received a call just after 4 p.m. to Salt Hallow Cove. The boy had jumped from a boat anchored at mile marker 21 to swim and did not resurface.
Troopers said the teen is believed to have had a medical condition and was not wearing any safety device when he jumped.
Divers with the Osage Beach Fire and Mid-County Fire Department recovered his body just before 9 p.m.
