KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Blue Valley North wide receiver Mekhi Miller committed to the University of Missouri football on Wednesday morning.

Miller — who is the No. 3 prospect in Kansas and No. 44 wide receiver overall in the 2022 class, according to Rivals — made the announcement on Twitter.

“(4)00% committed. Thank you for the opportunity!” Miller wrote.

Miller also had offers from Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee and California-Berkeley, according to various recruiting sites.

Rivals lists Miller, who is 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, as a three-star prospect.

He’s a vertical threat with terrific hands, working primarily out of the slot, but also showed a willingness to work the middle of the field with slants and crossing routes.

Miller ran a variety of routes for the Mustangs, flashed elusiveness with the ball in his hands and showed an advanced ability to adjust to the ball in the air.

Miller, whose junior season highlights are available on Hudl, helped the Mustangs reach the Kansas Class 6A state championship game last fall.

After signing two players, Blue Springs defensive end Daniel Parker and Raytown wide receiver Dominic Gicinto, from the Kansas City area in the 2018 recruiting class, the Tigers had struggled to land top players from the region in recent years.

Mizzou struck out each of the last three years, failing to land a Kansas City-area recruit in the 2019-21 signing classes.

But with Miller’s commitment and Lee’s Summit tight end Max Whisner’s commitment in September, first-year Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz might be changing that trend.

Whisner, a Rivals three-star prospect, also had offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Arkansas, Iowa State, Nebraska and Pittsburgh.
