The seats have to be hosed down, and a touch up is needed on the diamond. These are just a few of the long list of chores that must be finished in time for Opening Day.

"From cleaning, landscaping, training staff and the grounds crew on the field, it's taken about the last month or so to get the field where it is today,” said Anthony Mozzicato, director of guest experience for the Royals.

The expectations of fans are higher than ever with a 2015 World Series win.

"We don't want to be that organization that stays where we are at, we want to continue getting better. Our fans deserve it and our city deserves it,” said Mozzicato.

There are some changes to the stadium this year. The Royals have bought medal detectors, which Mozzicato says should speed up passing through security.

Once inside the stadium, you can grab a beer at Rival Sports Bar which has overtaken an old patio area.

Best new item of all, taking a walk down memory lane by viewing the 2015 World Series trophy.

"Obviously for the first two games we'll show it off on our field to our guests. We're also going to do some ceremonies with it,” said Mozzicato.

Throughout the season there will be chances for photo opportunities with the trophy.
