The Kansas City Royals announced there will now be walk-through metal detectors at Kauffman Stadium as well as renovations.

Metal detectors at all entrances

A news release from the Royals said full-body metal detectors have been added to all entrances to The K as part of MLB’s recommendations for security standards at ballparks.

Each person who enters Kauffman Stadium will walk through a metal detector and will be asked to remove only keys, phones and wallets from pockets unless otherwise requested.

The Royals said the change is expected to speed up entry. The news release said all other security measures remain the same.

Rivals Sports Bar

The Royals said the Rivals Sports Bar was remodeled during the offseason. The bar has been relocated and now offers an indoor/outdoor model. The news release says a large HD projection screen and 12 60-inch televisions have been added.
