KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Nearing the finish line of what has been a marathon of negotiations to begin the 2020 MLB season, Dayton Moore remains busy.

The Royals announced Tuesday they’ve officially agreed to terms with No. 4 overall pick Asa Lacy and the remainder of five picks that make up the shortened 2020 class.

Nick Loftin, SS from Baylor, was taken 32nd overall. Ben Hernandez, right-handed high school prospect out of Illinois, snagged 41st overall. Tyler Gentry, OF from the University of Alabama, was taken at 76 overall. Christian Chamberlain, an LHP out of Oregon State University, came in with the 105th pick and Will Klein, a right-handed pitcher from Eastern Illinois University, came in at 135 overall.

The club also agreed to deals with seven non-drafted free agent players: AJ Block from Washington State University; outfielder Tucker Bradley from the University of Georgia; catcher Kale Emschoff from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock; catcher Saul Garza from Louisiana State University; right-handed pitcher John McMillon from Texas Tech University; infielder Matt Schmidt from the University of Michigan; and right-handed pitcher Chase Wallace from the University of Tennessee.

Emschoff, McMillon, Wallace and Bradley were each recognized as top 12 players in the undrafted free agent pool, according to MLB.com.
