A 19-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, athlete has a real chance to bring some hardware back from Rio.
Lydia Paterson is the United States 10-meter air pistol champion. The college sophomore from the University of St. Mary's in Leavenworth and Piper High School has been competing since she was old enough to nag her father and brother until they finally let her tag along when they went to the range.
"I started my first BB gun match when I was 7 years old. Which sounds crazy, but, you know, competing from such a young age really, really helps you in the long run," she said.
