KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One of the legends of the Border Showdown says he's excited to see the game back on the gridiron.
"For that game to be returning, even if it is on a limited basis," former Kansas quarterback Todd Reesing told 41 Action News. "It'll be a lot of fun for the players and certainly for the fans."
Kansas and Missouri announced a four-game series earlier this month, the first football matchup between the two since 2011.
"To have such a close rivalry between the two schools and such a history, that's what makes it so special," Reesing said.
The series will resume with games in 2025 (Sept. 6) and 2026 (Sept. 12), with the final two games set for 2031 (Sept. 6) and 2032 (Sept. 11). Mizzou will serve as the home team in the odd-number years, with Kansas serving as home team for the even-numbered years.
"I don't see how i can miss it," Reesing said. "It'll certainly be a (date) I have earmarked on my calendar."
Reesing still owns multiple records for passing yards, touchdowns and efficiency at Kansas.
