WATCH: Beers to pair with Girl Scout cookies

You could call it the grown-up version of cookies and milk.

"We are actually pairing Girl Scout cookies, all eight cookies with eight different beers," said Emily Alford, the founder of Kansas City's chapter of Girls Pint Out. "There are beers out there that taste like chocolate cake, there are beers that taste like creme brulee."

Brytos Beer Education put together the pairings, which you can copy at home.

While beer pairings are nothing new, putting together these two favorites is.

"Beer and cookies in general are a great pairing because cookies have a nice malty, crunchy character that pairs very well with the malt found in beer," said Patrick Combs with Brytos, a beer education company. He works with beer newbies and brew masters to teach them all about beer, from the hop to the pour.

Once a month, Girls Pint Out brings together brews and the women who love them. While the group has been getting together for a few years now, this Girl Scout Cookie pairing is Kansas City group's biggest event yet. In fact, the event spilled out of Bier Station's upstairs beer garden and into the first-floor bar.

"You have more than just a pizza or a burger with a beer," said Sarah Legg as she sipped a cold pour. "You can really pair a beer with anything. As long as the flavors compliment the food, you can really try anything with a beer."

Be they Caramel Delights, or Thin Mints.
