The road to Houston will get worn out by Chiefs fans this week.

The team's battle against the Texans is sure to bring plenty of Kansas Citians to the Lone Star State.

"It's going to be a great game," said Mark Ebbits, president of Shelton Travel. "I encourage all people to go down and see it as much as they can."

The drive to Houston takes more than 11 hours.  With low fuel prices, it will cost drivers only around $130 round trip.

Of course, flying can get you there a little faster.  And not for a bad price.

Delta Airlines are offering tickets starting at around $290 round trip if travelers leave KC on Friday and come back on Sunday.

While in Houston, Ebbits recommends staying downtown.

"There's a lot of fun restaurants and things like that," said Ebbits. "Not as vibrant as our Power & Light District but still a very fun area."

There's also convenient access downtown to Houston's metro rail. The train can take fans to the game for just a few bucks.

"There's no need to rent a car," said Ebbitts. "Traffic's a mess.  Parking is expensive."

And so is a ticket to the game.

Right now, Stubhub.com, ticket prices start at around $110 and higher.

But for some Chiefs fans it's a small price to pay, to hopefully see the teams's first playoff win in more than 20 years.
