It's one of the hottest seats in sports - a ticket to a game played by World Series Champs, the Royals. Now 4,000 kids who wouldn't otherwise be able to see a game will be able to, and it's all part of keeping Ewing Kauffman's legacy alive.
"Mr. Kauffman loved to celebrate and he loved to give back to the community," said Larry Jacob with the Kauffman Foundation.
That's why the Kauffman Foundation bought and gave away 4,000 tickets to organizations that help underprivileged youth. For most, this is the ticket to the only pro sports game they've ever seen.
"The kids I work with love it," said Ward Worley, the executive director of the Plaza Academy. "They are very excited when they receive the tickets. It's a fun event to attend with the kids. It's just an opportunity to interact with them in a different environment."
This upcoming season, each kid will have a chance to see the now legendary team up close and in real life.
