OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- A delivery driver hit and killed a woman in her mid-twenties as she walked along 69 Highway in Overland Park Friday morning, according to police.
The crash closed all southbound lanes near 151st Street for hours, but the stretch of road has since reopened.
Police said there were no vehicles broken down in the area, and investigators weren't yet sure what the woman was doing on the highway.
The driver hit the unidentified woman just before 5 a.m. She died at the scene.
An update from Overland park police noted the driver was not impaired at the time of the crash.
