A tradition since 1927 continued the day before Thanksgiving at Fritz's Meats. People were in high spirits waiting in a line that wrapped around the building.

The market's smoked turkeys are a huge hit every year.

People can drop off their already-purchased turkeys and Fritz's will smoke it. Fritz's sells their own turkeys and smoked meats in the store as well.

According to the folks in line, it's that good.

"Without Fritz's turkey on the table, Thanksgiving seems like it's just not the same!" Debra Watson said.

"I waited till the last day. I'm here in line for two hours so it's worth the wait," Stacy Sussman said.

"We've been going the last couple years braving the cold and standing in line," Wayne Cotton said, standing with his son. "But it's well worth it, and I appreciate it when it comes down to Thanksgiving dinner. We stayed in line, we got the turkey, and we take it home."

Fritz's workers said they expected to sell 4,000 turkeys.
