An 18-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, man has been charged in the death of a father who was attempting to sell a gun in a grocery store parking lot.

Jackson County, Missouri, prosecutors charged Fazon Swinton Tuesday with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, second-degree robbery and leaving the scene of a shooting.

The charges stem from an April 3, 2016 incident that Swinton is alleged to have killed Jacob Brantner in the parking lot of the Price Chopper grocery store in the 8700 block of East 63rd Street.

The pair had met at the location to allow Brantner to sell Swinton a handgun.

Prosecutors allege a fight broke out after Swinton attempted to take the gun away from Brantner without paying for it.
