KCPD: 2 injured in separate overnight shootings

Two people are injured after being shot in separate overnight shootings in Kansas City, Missouri. 

The first shooting happened near 11th and Chestnut around 10 p.m. Wednesday night. 

Police told 41 Action News a man was left in life-threatening condition after he was shot by someone who drove away in a red 1991 Nissan with lost damage to the car. 

The second shooting occurred around 1 a.m. Thursday morning near Gladstone and Independence, just south of Kessler Park. 

Authorities say a male victim was shot and then later walked about a half mile to a nearby gas station at Maple and Independence, where he called for an ambulance. 

The man was shot in the arm and is expected to survive.
