Kansas City Police need your help identifying suspects and locating stolen motorcycles from around the city.

Police say two men captured in a surveillance video near 10th and Wyandotte, loaded a motorcycle onto a trailer and drove away. The thieves stealing the bike while cars passed and people walked by.

Another surveillance video from inside a downtown parking garage recorded a man as he tried to steal a motorcycle. However, after 30 minutes he gave up, stole items from surrounding vehicles and left the scene.

These are not isolated incidents. According to police, motorcycle theft and attempted theft is revving up.

Chip Anderson's 2015 Royal Enfield Continental GT was stolen from his apartment complex parking lot sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.

"It was a 'love at first sight' thing," he told 41 Action News. "It's a beautiful motorcycle. It has a lot of heritage and no one has it."

Anderson got the bike for his 30th birthday. And would constantly refer to it as his "labor of love." Now, he wants his bike back.

"I power coated the springs, new exhaust, exhaust wrap. I shortened the frame. Different decals on the side. It's not really anything that in-depth but it was my bike and now it's gone," he said.

Like Anderson, Ian Davis' motorcycle was also recently stolen.

A 1976 Honda CB554, it was taken outside of a restaurant while Davis ate.

"The bike really was a catalyst for the development and the growth we've had the past couple of years," he told 41 Action News.

Davis owns Blip Roasters in the West Bottoms. The bike, he said, helped grow his business and connected him to his clients and now friends.

"It seems like this whole year has been kind of odd with the number of motorcycles stolen," Davis said. "I don't know if bike thefts have actually gone up or not but it sure feels like they have."

If you have seen Anderson or Davis' motorcycles or can identify the suspects in the surveillance videos, you are asked to call Kansas City Police or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
