KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating after a dead body was found Tuesday morning inside a donation bin.

KCKPD officers were dispatched shortly after 10:30 a.m. to the 2800 block of West 47th Avenue after receiving a call about a dead body.

The body of an unidentified Hispanic male, approximately 60 years old, was found inside the bin, but police do not suspect foul play.

“At this point he appears to have died from natural causes,” KCKPD Media Relations Specialist Nancy Chartrand said via email.

According to a subsequent release from KCK police, the dead man "may have been sleeping in the bin periodically."

The Criminal Investigations Division requests that anyone with information about the case contact the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers Tips Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
