Rockhurst beat Shawnee Mission East. The final score was 26-20.
The two teams are about 10 minutes away from each other and haven't played a regular season game since 1982.
The high schools play each other regularly in basketball, but on the gridiron, it's a different story.
Rockhurst athletic office says they sold between 3,500 and 4,000 tickets and expect to sell more.
Between 5,000 and 5,500 people can fill the stadium. This includes additional seating in temporary bleachers and standing room.
