KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hand sanitizer dispensers have been stolen from Kansas City International airport.

Airport officials posted Sunday about the theft on Facebook, stating that they will not be able to purchase replacements for “many months.”

“Acts like this impact many people,” the post stated. “We are doing all we can to protect the health of our customers. This act makes that difficult since this is the only way we can offer hand sanitizer since it is in dispenser bags, and bottled sanitizer is not available. If we transfer those into bottles those would likely disappear.”

Officials are reviewing surveillance footage and said there are “plenty of soap and paper towel dispensers intact.”

Hand sanitizer dispensers also are located in airport restrooms.
