KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas Department of Labor warned residents on Friday about a fraudulent "Get Kansas Benefits" website that was recently discovered.
The department said it’s working with law enforcement to track down the fraudsters. The Secret Service, FBI, U.S. Department of Labor Office of Inspector General, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office are involved in the investigation.
The only legitimate websites associated with KDOL are:
- Main site: dol.ks.gov
- Unemployment benefit site: GetKansasBenefits.gov
- Pandemic Unemployment Assistance benefit site: PUA.GetKansasBenefits.gov
Kansas has seen a spike in identity theft related to unemployment claims during the COVID-19 pandemic. Anyone who has been the victim of identity theft should report it at ReportFraud.ks.gov.
