KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The superintendent of North Kansas City School District shared a piece of history on his Twitter account Sunday.

Superintendent Daniel Clemons said he received a picture of this letter from Dr. Wartick, the principal at North Kansas City High School.

The letter was from L.O. Litle, who was the superintendent of NKC school district in 1944. It was in reference to World War II, however, as Clemens said, the words "are strangely comforting today."

Clemens highlighted the following quote from the letter: "Your school is desirous of serving your educational needs as completely as possible."

Clemens told 41 Action News that Dr. Wartick's son-in-law is the grandson of L.O. Litle.
