KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Missouri Gov. Mike Parson said he does not put “much stock” in reports from outside the state, including one that indicated Kansas City is on a list of “locations to watch” as hot spots for the novel coronavirus.

“We've proven all through this process that [of] most that's inaccurate information,” Parson said during a press conference on Wednesday. “So I don't know what study you're referring to and how accurate it would be.”

The study, leaked from the White House Coronavirus Task Force, also noted Omaha and Minneapolis due to the rate of increase in COVID-19 cases.

However, Parson said Kansas City has done an “extremely good job” of combating the coronavirus.

“Not to say they didn’t have problems like everybody else, but they're well on the way to recovery,” Parson said.
