KANSAS CITY, Mo. — 41 Action News and Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas are partnering to answer community questions about the city's new 10/10/10 Plan for reopening after the COVID-19 shutdown.
Mayor Lucas announced the plan in a press conference on Wednesday.
The 10/10/10 Plan has three parts:
- Businesses may only reopen with 10 percent of their occupancy;
- Or with 10 people total inside.
- Businesses must take down contact information for anyone in their building more than 10 minutes in order to conduct contact tracing if there were an outbreak.
The plan will be set in motion on May 15, when Kansas City, Missouri, and Jackson County are set to reopen.
It will be reassessed after a few weeks of viewing new case, hospitalization, testing and contact tracing data. If numbers improve, restrictions will be loosened further.
Businesses that are not open to the public are allowed to reopen on May 6 so employees can get back to work.
Employees who are not comfortable returning to work for health reasons are encouraged to continue telework and cannot be penalized for not returning to work before May 15.
Mayor Lucas will join 41 Action News at 6:30 p.m. Friday to answer questions about this plan. If you have one, please submit it on the form below.
