KANSAS CITY, Mo. — With the growing demand for food resources amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Reola Grant Center for Family Life Development provided a helping hand Saturday.

The center offered free groceries at its pantry at 5010 Leavenworth Rd. in Kansas City, Kansas.

"People are so hungry. They're out of work. They don't have any money. So, we made it even bigger so that we could try to serve more people," said Janice Witt, the center's CEO. "But we had five times the amount of people ask."

Organizers said hundreds of people came to get food.
