2nd teen charged in deadly Raytown shooting last month

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An 18-year-old Lee's Summit man was charged Thursday in connection with a deadly August shooting that left one man dead.

Xzaveion King was charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 19-year-old Lucas Jester, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced.

According to court documents, Raytown police officers found Jester shot to death in a vehicle Aug. 10 after being called to the 8400 block of Lane Drive.

King admitted to police that he and friend met Jester to by drugs and after inspecting the drugs his friend shot the victim. He also said he knew his friend planned to shoot Jester, according to court documents.

Aaron M. Hays was charged with second-degree murder and delivery of a controlled substance last month for allegedly shooting Jester.

Prosecutors requested a bond $100,000 cash.
