Imagine waking up in the morning and finding your home burglarized.

That’s exactly what happened to one Kansas City, Kansas, mother who is asking to be identified only as Ashley.

Ashley, a mother of two, said she woke up early Monday morning and found her front door open. She then discovered that her credit cards, car keys and two TVs were missing.

“I woke up to make the baby a bottle at probably 3 a.m., everything was normal. Woke up with the baby around 7 a.m. and that's when the doors were open and the things were gone,” she said.

Ashley walked 41 Action News where the burglar went through her home. One of the spots included her 9-year-old son’s room, where a TV was taken.

“Fortunately my son was hot that night and slept in my room,” she said. “It’s just terrifying to think what could have happened had he been awake or woken up.”

Kansas City, Kansas police said Ashley’s house was not the only target of the night. The burglar struck two other homes.

Police were able to capture and release an image of the suspect’s red car. Police said he used Ashley’s credit card to make a purchase at the QuikTrip on Westport Road shortly after targeting her home.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
