KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Those of a certain age in Kansas City don’t need any help remembering the inevitable jousting that develops anytime developers announce plans for a new building on the Country Club Plaza.

A new proposal would remove the long-standing Seventh Church of Christ, Scientist building on the northwest corner of the intersection at 47th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.

Developers plan to build a multi-story office tower in its place.

In this week’s 41 Files podcast , reporter Nick Starling joined the episode and described how the proposal has many asking if it’s the right fit for the area.

Later in the podcast, reporter Steven Dial arrived into the studio to talk about the then-recently adjourned KCI Airport Committee meeting Thursday where members received an update on the proposed new single terminal project at KCI.

The proposal included a new 3D model and a pair of video renderings.
