KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The driver of an SUV that crashed in Kansas City north last week, killing a four-year-old, died shortly after the wreck.
Officials announced on Tuesday that Omer Hamsic, 53, of Kansas City, Missouri died on Jan. 10.
Officials said the vehicle went off the road just west of Parvin and Prather in Kansas City north. A Mitsubishi SUV was traveling east and passed a Honda van on the left. The Mitsubishi side-swiped the Honda, causing the driver of the Mitsubishi to lose control, strike several trees and overturn near the bottom of a hill.
Hamsic was unresponsive at the scene and had to be cut out of the vehicle.
The driver of the Honda was not injured.
