Authorities are investigating a fire at an automobile repair and tire shop in Belton, Missouri early Wednesday morning.

Fire officials were called to Kyke's Auto Repair in the 600 block of N. Scott Ave. around 2:00 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof of the building.

The auto repair shop was filled with tires and the flames damaged five cars inside the building during the fire.

Crews went of the defensive attack against the flames and knocked the fire down, and then switched to offense and mopped the inside of the car repair shop.

The Belton Fire Department battled the flames with assistance from the South Metro, Grandview and West Peculiar Fire Departments.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

Crews have not yet been able to contact the owner of Kyke's Auto Repair. The fire is not considered suspicious, but remains under investigation.
