KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A former Kansas priest was sentenced to 37 months in prison on Wednesday for child pornography charges.

Christopher Rossman, 47, was found to have child pornography on his tablet in September 2016, and monitoring software installed on his computer alerted the church to his visits to adult and child pornography sites. That finding was forwarded from the archdiocese to law enforcement.

The priest had served at Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin City, Kansas.

Rossman pleaded guilty to the crimes in July 2019.

Along with the 36 months in prison, he will also have to pay $5,000, U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister said.
