A Kansas City man accused of brutally attacking two women is now behind bars.

Rodney Johnson faces domestic assault charges for allegedly attacking his 74-year-old girlfriend and leaving her for dead.

Johnson was arrested Monday night in Bexar County, Texas, which is in San Antonio.

He's been arrested and charged for attacking his ex-girlfriend, Jackie Banks, who lives in San Antonio.

Banks told 41 Action News she had no idea Johnson faced domestic assault charges in Kansas City when she says he asked to move into her apartment.

Banks is willing to share her story to spare other women the same pain.

"He would hit me with his fist. I think my body went into shock mode after the first hit because I could see myself being hit, but I couldn't feel any pain," said Banks. "He would hit me in the top of my head so hard I could feel my brain swell."

Johnson is charged with choking and assaulting Banks.

"He should be charged with attempted murder because that's what he tried to do. He was choking me until I was unconscious. My will to live is the only thing that kept me alive," said Banks.

Johnson will have to face a judge in Bexar County, Texas before being extradited back to Kansas City, Missouri.
