Kansas City Police are continuing to investigate why dozens of bullets were fired into a home at the corner of 67th and Walrond Avenue early Tuesday morning.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. Police tell 41 Action News six people were inside the home when bullets started to fly, including a six-year-old girl. No one was injured or killed.
“I was sitting up in my bed watching TV and I heard the shots. I rolled to the floor and I called 911 and I kept counting boom, boom, boom,” said Devoulia Howlett, who has lived across the street for 31 years.
Police would not disclose how many shell casings were found inside the home. However, 41 Action News could counted dozens of bullet holes that pierced the front bedroom windows as well as those that lodged into the back of the home.
“They’re shooting and not knowing who they are shooting at and they are killing children, I mean babies,” said Dwayene Jones, who lives down the street and called 911 after shots rang out.
This home is no stranger to violence. New people live there now, but in July 2015 three year old Amorian Hale was shot and killed when gunfire flew through the home.
41 Action News spoke to Amorian's grandfather who says he feels sorry for the family living there now.
Kansas City Police are investigating the shooting, trying to find who is responsible. If you have any information you're asked to call them.
