KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One of two pedestrians hurt in a crash while waiting at a bus stop last week died Wednesday.
The victim, who was only identified as a 65-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, man, died of the injuries he suffered in the Dec. 9 crash.
Police said the crash happened around 2:45 p.m. near Blue Ridge Boulevard and East Sycamore Terrace.
According to KCPD’s report, the driver of a Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed crashed into the back of a Ford Edge as the vehicles were northbound on Blue Ridge.
The driver of the Edge lost control of the vehicle, and the two cars ran into the bus stop on the southeast corner of the road's intersection with East 107th Street.
The man who died and another pedestrian who was waiting were struck by the cars and thrown several feet, suffering life-threatening injuries.
The Edge driver suffered non life-threatening injuries, and the two children inside the car were taken to a hospital by family members after complaining of minor injuries.
The driver of the Charger was not injured and was arrested at the scene.
KCPD said possible impairment is under investigation.
