KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A motorcyclist died in a crash involving three other vehicles Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 35 in Kansas City, Missouri.
The wreck happened around 3:50 p.m. on southbound I-35 between Front Street and Admiral Boulevard.
The motorcyclist was driving between two lanes on I-35, with a Dodge Ram on one side and a Penske box truck on the other, according to KCPD, and struck both vehicles.
The motorcyclist was then ejected off the motorcycle, and his helmet, which was not secured, "flew off down the shoulder of the highway," police said.
The driver was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.
The incident forced police to close the Christopher S. Bond Bridge as officers investigated the crash.
I-35 southbound reopened shortly before 5 p.m.
