UPDATE, 5/17: A homeless woman has been accused of lighting a man on fire.

Amanda Drake, 35, faces first-degree domestic assault.

According to court records, firefighters and police officers were called to a house fire in the 300 block of North White Avenue. When officers first contacted the victim, he told police he was asleep in the home and felt a liquid being poured on his back. He woke up and then said he was on fire.

Police said the victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition with burns to his face and shoulders. According to court records medical staff advised the victim received second and third-degree burns to his back and both arms.

According to court records, when police later interviewed the victim at the hospital, he told police he and Drake were walking to QuikTrip when Drake began making rambling statements. The victim said when the two returned to the residence he went upstairs and was looking out the window when he felt a liquid being poured on him. Court records say he told police he looked back and Drake was standing with a lighter in her hand, which she then ignited and lit him on fire.

The victim told police the only other person in the residence was the suspect, Drake. She was taken into custody a short distance away from the scene.

Court records say when detectives asked Drake if she would like to provide a statement, she declined.

Prosecutors have requested a bond of $100,000.
