An 8-year-old child suffered serious injuries Friday night when she lost control of her bicycle and was hit by pickup truck.
Police said the crash happened at 6:51 p.m. at 30 Terrace and Lee's Summit Road.
The child lost control of her bike while riding on a sidewalk near the busy street. The child and her bike rolled into the northbound lanes of Lee's Summit Road and were struck by a Ford Ranger.
The pickup driver stayed at the scene.
