Good evening, Kansas City.

On the picture you can see the band of heavy snow moving into Kansas City from the west. It will last around two hours and 1 to 2 inches of snow may accumulate quickly. This band of snow is increasing and heading right toward Kansas City and should arrive around 8 p.m.

Temperatures are dropping and are already down to below freezing. The road temperatures also are cooling off, and we are beginning to experience some ice development and slick conditions. Untreated and elevated surfaces (bridges and overpasses) might start to get slick.

The heavier snow band will move past Kansas City and the snow will taper off to flurries and then end. We will be monitoring this closely on 41 Action News tonight at 10 p.m.

The good news is that this will be gone and the sun will come out for dry trick-or-treating on Thursday.
