Good Friday afternoon bloggers,
Here is an updated weather time line.
A new 1/2"-1" is likely by 3 PM, bringing our total to 1"-2". Roads will be mostly wet to slushy before 5 PM as temperatures are around 32. Refreezing will occur after 5 PM.
This is quite a storm all wrapped up in northeast Missouri. The dark areas are dry air and you can see a dry slot that is heading towards us from Iowa. That is why the steady snow will shut off after 3 PM. We will still see snow showers and flurries until 10 PM.
Here are the wind gusts at noon Friday. The highest have been and will stay out west where gusts are 50-60 mph! We will see gusts 40-50 mph. At noon our gust was 39 mph. As the storm pulls away tonight, the wind will lessen and the blowing snow will end.
The rest of the weekend will see calmer weather. There will be lots of clouds, but some some sun with highs mostly in the 30s and lows in the 20s. There will be melting and refreezing both days. So, watch for morning and nighttime slick spots.
The weather for the big game looks great for football. It will be partly to mostly cloudy with highs 35-40. The wind during the game will be NW at 10-20 mph. Winning weather!
Have a great weekend and stay healthy.
