Good Monday bloggers,

We are looking at near perfect weather to start the week. This week we are also tracking two storm systems, more nice weather and the chance for a freeze. Welcome to the Plains! Let's go through this up and down weather.

MONDAY: We are in for sunshine and a near perfect high around 70°. Do you notice the highs in the 50s across the western Plains? This is due to clouds and rain as the first of two storm systems move this way.

This is a map of 5 PM today. You can see a wall of water from western Nebraska to western Kansas while we are having some great weather.

MONDAY NIGHT: The rain will arrive after 8 PM, but we are on the northern edge of the storm as it tracks towards northern Oklahoma. Northern Missouri will likely stay dry with the best chance of rain south of Kansas City.

TUESDAY MORNING: You can see the main storm in northwest Arkansas (the curl in the rain). We may see a few lingering rain showers with temperatures 45-50.

TUESDAY AFTERNOON: The storm moves away and the sun comes out in full force with a light NE to N wind. Highs will be 60-65.

RAINFALL FORECAST TODAY-TUESDAY: Rainfall in KC will be a trace to .05", maybe .10". Northern Missouri will stay dry, while western, central and southeast Kansas will see .25"-1". Locations in Missouri, south of I-44 will also see .25-1". So, if you need to fertilize in KC, this is not the storm to count on.

THURSDAY: Wednesday will be a nice day with highs around 70. Then, we begin some changes for Thursday. A system will come in from the southwest, increasing clouds and bringing a few showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the 50s to low 60s. A strong cold front will be assembling to our northwest.

FRIDAY: The front looks to move through during the morning with showers and a few thunderstorms. It will be cold enough to snow from Omaha and points north. Temperatures wil drop to the 40s.

The air may be cold enough for a freeze Saturday morning. Right now it looks like a light freeze.

Have a great week and enjoy the weather the next few days.
Stay healthy.
