Good Saturday bloggers,

Rainfall since Thursday night, officially at KCI, was 1.14". This now takes us to 3.23" for the month which is 0.44" above average to date. Average for all of April is 3.73". We do have 3-4 small system to track before April ends.

The storm that brought widespread rain on Friday is exiting Missouri today. Overall, we are looking at some great weekend weather with one small exception. A weak storm system in the northern Plains early Saturday will drop down I-29 today and give us a chance for a few showers and thunderstorms this evening. Let's go through the forecast.

SATURDAY: This afternoon we will be in between the bigger storm to the east and smaller one racing down I-29. It will be raining and in the 50s all day in St. Louis while we see highs in the 60s with abundant sunshine. The weak system will bring a chance for a few showers and thunderstorms between 5 and 10 PM. The showers and thunderstorms will weaken as they drop southeast.

SUNDAY: After 10 PM tonight it will become clear and cool with almost no wind. Sunday will start with lows 45-50 and warm to around 70. The wind will be light along with abundant sunshine. A near perfect Sunday.

MONDAY: A small system will race by during the morning bringing a period of scattered showers and thunderstorms with lows 55-60. It will become mostly sunny by afternoon with highs reaching the 70s.

New total rainfall for the two systems will be a trace to .50". Another a cold front may bring some thunderstorms Tuesday, but overall we are looking at a calm end of April. We do not see any big storm systems or severe weather. If the front arrives Tuesday afternoon, then we could see some hail, but no major severe weather event.

The grass is going to start growing rapidly. The best day to mow will be Sunday as today it may be a bit wet out there and we could see a few showers and thunderstorms after 5 PM. Monday and Tuesday will be better mow days than indicated if you get missed by significant rain. Remember, the showers ad thunderstorms will be scattered Monday and Tuesday as it stands now.

Have a great weekend and stay healthy.
