Good Monday bloggers,

The word iota means, "very small." Iota is the smallest letter in the Greek alphabet. Hurricane Iota is ignoring the meaning of the word as it has become a major category 5 with 160 mph winds. It will make landfall in Nicaragua tonight as a category 5, possibly intensifying a bit more before it makes landfall.

Our weather is calm as we track one main storm system the next 7 days. There are still many areas that need rain as our storm systems the last 6 weeks have been picking and choosing who sees rain.

This is the percent average rainfall during the last 30 days. Along and north of I-80 and mostly south of I-70 have seen some great moisture. There is a corridor along I-70 that is in still need of rain. There is a storm system this weekend that may fill this gap.

On a national basis rain is really needed from California to Texas. This next storm system should bring rain to northern California and eastern Texas.

The video below has details on Iota and our weather day by day through the weekend. This includes our one main storm system to track.

Have a great week and stay healthy.
