Spring is on the way back after we saw our 10th freeze this month. It was a frosty freeze as there was a lot of moisture in the air to condense out after all the rain and snow.
The low at KCI dropped to 28, but rose to 33 by sunrise.
It looks like we are done with snow chances and we are likely done with the freezes. We still have to watch the lows April 25-30 as we could see a light freeze or two.
We had around .25" to .75" of rain over the weekend and this puts us a bit above average for the month. We are tracking a series of mostly small systems the next 7 days. Let's go through the forecast for the next week.
TODAY: It will be sunny with a southwest breeze at 15-25 mph. This will take us to the low 60s. The weather looks great to get out and take a walk.
SUNDAY MORNING: A weak system will track east from the Rockies tonight and Sunday morning. We may see a few rain showers, but most of the rain will occur across southern Missouri. Lows will be in the 40s.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON: Any showers will end during the morning and we will be in for a nice afternoon with less wind from the northeast at 5-15 mph. Highs will be in the low 60s.
SUNDAY NIGHT-MONDAY: Another small system will ride in from the northwest. It will generate scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. It will arrive in our area early Monday bringing a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms.
The small system exits by Monday afternoon leading to another nice afternoon with highs in the low to mid 60s.
TUESDAY: This will be a nice day with highs again in the 60s.
WEDNESDAY: A slightly bigger system arrives bringing a good chance of more widespread rain and a few thunderstorms with temperatures in the 50s. We do not expect severe weather in our area and you can see no blue color. There is no snow with this system.
THURSDAY: This is looking like a nice day with highs in the 60s.
FRIDAY: Another system moves by bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms. The chance of severe weather is rather low with this system as well.
Total rainfall the next 7 days will be around 1" to 2".
