Weather Blog: Summer in October, Louisiana Tropical Systems, and Pattern Changes

and last updated

Good Saturday bloggers,

We had another beautiful sunrise, unfortunately it was due to more smoke from the western wildfires.

It would be nice for California to get some rain, but that is not in the cards for now. It is too bad we can't take some of the rain in Louisiana and transport it west. There has been almost two feet of rain in Louisiana the last three days. This includes rain ahead of Delta.

We are in for more summer like October weather this weekend with highs in the 80s. A cold front will move through Sunday night and we could see some bigger pattern changes in 5-10 days. We need rain!

We have been tracking Hurricane Delta and this has been the second most active hurricane season, only surpassed by 2005. I am sure you have heard about Hurricanes Laura and Delta making landfall just 12 miles from each other. Did you know there were two other tropical systems making landfall in Louisiana this season?

The video below has all the details about the Louisiana tropical systems, our cold front and the pattern changes.

Have a great weekend and stay healthy.
