KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Good Monday bloggers,

We are still tracking three storm systems for this busiest travel week of the year. Let's go through this crazy weather day by day.

TUESDAY: The first storm will come charging through the Plains. A snowstorm will occur from Denver to around and north of Omaha and Des Moines to Minneapolis and northern Wisconsin. If you are traveling north on I-35 and I-29 keep this in mind. I-70 west from northwest Kansas westward will be a problem as well. Kansas City will see some scattered showers and drizzle during the day. And, then during the evening there is the chance for a round of showers and heavy thunderstorms as a cold front sweeps by. After the thunderstorms it will become very windy with gusts to 45 mph from the west Tuesday night. We could see some flurries, but no accumulation is expected.

WEDNESDAY: The Tuesday storm will be racing northeast through the Great Lakes into New England. Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee to Boston, Newark and New York City may be impacted. The second storm will be racing this way from Baja, California. The third storm will be growing along the west coast of the U.S. So, this will be the best travel day around here, in between systems 1 and 2.

THANKSGIVING DAY: The second storm will be impacting the middle of the U.S. with a mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain. Thursday morning we may see a mix of snow and sleet race in from the south with temperatures around freezing. So, roads may become slick. It depends on how heavy the snow and sleet become as it won't last too long. If you have to travel south on I-35 or to I-44, keep this in mind. Hopefully, you will be at your destination and watching the weather from inside. The storm system will race northeast and weaken considerably during the afternoon. So, we will see a change to rain, then drizzle with temperatures in the 30s. This will help out the roads conditions. So, it still looks cold for the Plaza Lighting with a chance of drizzle and mostly wet to damp roads. Any snow will add to the holiday atmosphere. The third storm will be affecting the western half of the U.S.

FRIDAY: The second storm will be gone as the large third storm affects the middle of the U.S. Rain and wind will be occurring from around I-90 south with snow north. The Rockies will be seeing a ton of snow and cold. We are in the rain and wind. Warmer air will try to push in later in the day, so we could see highs in the 50s.

SATURDAY: The big storm will be centered around Iowa. A blizzard will be possible in the northern Plains as the rain shifts to east of the Mississippi River. It looks like we will be in the dry slot, which means sun and much wind. Highs may be in the 50s. A new storm will be affecting California. This one may sit out there for a few days.

SUNDAY: The big third storm will be moving east into New England. It will have impacts from Chicago to Boston. A snowstorm is possible form the Great Lakes to New England. We will be on the back side with clouds, flurries, cold and strong northwest winds. Wear layers to the Raiders at Chiefs game.

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving and be weather aware.
